He was born October 16, 1926, in Mound Valley, Kansas, to Rodger and Sarinda White Desteiguer. Formerly of Yoakum, he was a resident of Brazoria for the past five years, a member of the First United Methodist Church of Brazoria, a former member of the Yoakum Lions Club and a World War II veteran of the U.S. Army Air Corps. He is survived by: his wife, Ann Benedict Desteiguer of Brazoria; two daughters, Sharon Jackson and husband John of Kalamazoo, Michigan, and Susan Desteiguer of Traverse City, Michigan; sons, Stewart Desteiguer and wife Diane of Weatherford, Texas, and William Darnell and wife Esther of Friendswood, Texas; sisters, Jane Ward of Odessa, Texas, and Sue Davis of Muskogee, Oklahoma; brother, Don Desteiguer of Braggs, Oklahoma; and by several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Roger and Sarinda Desteiguer, and by a son, Randy Desteiguer. Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. Sunday, December 11, 2005, at Taylor Bros. Funeral Home, with the Rev. Peter Cammeraon officiating. Interment will follow at Cedarvale Cemetery in Bay City. The family was to receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Stewart Desteiguer, Joshua Desteiguer, William Darnell, Robert Beverly, Billy Phillips and Edgar Floyd. Honorary pallbearers include J.G. Maliff, Clyde Newman, Kevin Norris, Michael Humphries and Bob Wakefield. Arrangements are with Taylor Bros. Funeral Home, Bay City, Texas (979) 245-4613.
