Soto - BLESSING BLESSING - Marsela H. Soto, 79, of Blessing, died Tuesday, Nov. 29, 2005. She was born Jan. 16, 1926, in Morales, to the late Ignacio and Manuela Bentancur Hernandez. She was a homemaker and a Catholic. Survivors: daughters, Erica Martinez, and Gloria Arias, both of Blessing, Maria Soto and Raquel Ramirez, both of Lakewales, Fla., Nancy Soto of Ohio, and Elida Guevara of Edna; sons, Egino Soto, Jessie Soto, Ray Soto, Mario Soto, and James Soto, all of Edna, Felipe Soto of Bay City, and Lupe Soto of Bloomington; sister, Mary Verver of Edna; brothers, Fernado Gonzales of Lolita, Modesto Hernandez of Edna, and Antonio Hernandez of Goliad; 45 grandchildren; 79 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by: husband, Jose Soto; daughter, Juanita Soto; sons, Jose Soto and Santos Soto; sister, Lupe Hernandez; and brothers, Joe Hernandez, Facundo Hernandez, and Domingo Gonzales. Services will be 10 a.m. today at St. Agnes Catholic Church in Edna. Burial will be at Edna Latin American Cemetery. Oaklawn Funeral Home, Edna, 361-782-2221.
