She confessed Christ at an early age and was baptized by the Rev. Gus Fitzgerald in Kendleton, Texas. She attended public school at O.H. Herman High School, Van Vleck, Texas. She was united in marriage to Thomas Jackson, Sr. on July 8, 1955. To this lovely reunion they were blessed with eight children. She departed this life on December 1, 2005, at the Southwest Memorial Hermann Hospital in Houston, Texas. She leaves to mourn and cherish special memories of 50 years: her husband, Thomas Jackson Sr.; four sons, Thomas Jackson, Jr. of Bay City, Texas, Carl Jackson of Lake Jackson, Texas, Samuel Jackson of Bay City, Texas, and Larry Jackson of Dallas, Texas; four daughters, Faye M. Jackson of Bay City, Texas, Brenda R. Jackson of Dallas, Texas, Mairrlyn (Joseph) Cross and Jacqueline L. Jackson, of Bay City, Texas; six grandchildren, Layln Jackson, Zkari Jackson, Dominique Mayberry, Andrea Mayberry, Leslie Wyche, Jr., and Daniel Wyche; one sister, Johnnie Mae Brown of Houston; three aunts, Lucille Washington, Lovey Jefferson and Elnora (Henry) Coger; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends; brother-in-law, Eddie H. Allen Sr., of Bay City; sisters-in-law, Alma and Lola Nelson of Chicago, Illinois, Stella Grogan of Houston, Texas, and Lorese (Willie) Goode of Victoria, Texas. She was preceded in death by: her father, Ollie Abbott, Sr.; her mother, Lena Mae Abbott Edwards; one brother, Ollie Abbott, Jr.; and two sisters, Vernell Virginia Abbott and Lula Mae Burton (“Peggy”). Funeral service for Blanche F. Jackson, 68, of Bay City, will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, December 10, 2005, at Mother Zion Baptist Church, with the Rev. L.K. Williams officiating. Burial will be in Hudgins Settlement. Visitation will be from noon until 8 p.m. Friday, December 9, 2005. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Mrs. Jackson will lie in state from noon until 1 p.m. on Saturday at the church.
