Cantu - PALACIOS [Matagorda County, Texas] Friday, December 16, 2005 PALACIOS - Virginia Gatica Cantu, 48, of Palacios, died Thursday, Dec. 15, 2005. She was born July 30, 1957, in Palacios, to the late Monico and Carmen Chavez Gatica. She was a registered nurse at Matagorda General Hospital. Survivors: husband, Juan Martin Cantu; daughters, Christina Cantu and Katherine Cantu, both of Palacios; sons, Juan Martin Cantu Jr., Jack Lee Gillett Jr. and James Barbour Gillett, all of Palacios; sisters, Mary Yanes of Rockdale, Aurora Lopez of Baytown, and Rosie Herrera and Janie Arroyo, both of Palacios; and brothers, Bobby Gatica of League City, Tony Gatica of Pasadena, and Mike Gatica and Marcus Gatica, both of Palacios. Preceded in death by: sister, Paulene Gatica; and brother, Gabriel Gatica. A prayer services will be 7:30 p.m. tonight at Palacios Funeral Home chapel. Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home chapel, the Rev. Tony Flores officiating. Burial will be at Palacios Cemetery. Palacios Funeral Home, Palacios, 361-972-2012.
