He was born July 18, 1935, to the late Arthur and Mary McAfee Long. He was a truck driver and also employed by Joe Stein in Houston. Survivors: wife, Dorothy Hopes-Long; daughters, Carla Moore, Donna Lewis, Lorna Chatman-Smith, Melanie Peterson, and Julia Farrow of El Campo; sisters, Ozella King of Kendleton, and Genell Caesar and Lee Etta Brown, both of Bay City; brother, Eugene Long; and five grandchildren. Preceded in death: sister, Christina Long. Visitation will noon to 8 p.m. Friday at Green's Mortuary chapel. Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at the chapel, the Rev. I. Gartica officiating.
