CONSTANCIO, SR. Funeral services for Edward "Eddie" Hernandez Constancio Sr., 75, of Palacios, will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 17, 2006 at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Palacios with Rev. Charles Dwomoh officiating. Burial with military honors under the auspices of VFW - Queen Hamlin Post No. 2467 will be at Palacios Cemetery. Visitation will be 5 p.m. Friday at St. Anthony's Catholic Church and a rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Mr. Constancio was born Oct. 24, 1930, in Austin, to the late Trinidad B. and Guadalupe Hernandez Constancio. He died June 14, 2006. He was a truck driver for the U.S. Postal Service where he retired after 20 years of service. He was a Catholic and a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War where he served as a paratrooper. He is survived by his wife, Consuelo Robles Constancio; daughters, Lupe Rodriguez of La Porte, Josefa "Josie" Christiansen, Tina Gonzalez, and Deena Constancio, all of Palacios; sons, Erbey De La Garza of Big Lake, Louis Constancio of Houston, Roland Constancio of Blessing, Eduardo "Edward" R. Constancio Jr., Jesse Constancio, Rudy Constancio, Gerry Constancio, Bobby Constancio, and Anthony Constancio, all of Palacios; sisters, Rosie C. Sanchez of Dallas, Rebecca C. Ottino of Palacios, and Elida C. Valdez of San Jose, Calif.; brothers, Jesse H. Constancio of Blessing, Trinidad H. Constancio Jr. of Rosharon, and Ray Constancio of Stockton, Calif.; 47 grandchildren; and 32 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother, Richard R. Constancio.
