She was born on December 31, 1939 in West Columbia, Texas, daughter of the late Rufus Edward Watson and Claudia Vern Terrel Watson. Mrs. McLeod was raised in El Campo, where she attended El Campo High School and later graduated from Vivian High School in Vivian, Louisiana. She also attended Wharton County Junior College. She was a former resident of El Campo and Bay City before moving to Iago in 1985. She was a homemaker, a former Bay City Police Department Dispatcher and was a Retired Major with the Texas State Guard. Mrs. McLeod married Karl McLeod on March 21, 1985 in Iago. She was a member of the Eastern Star, Wharton Pilot Club and Wharton Garden Club. Her favorite pastime was her love for growing various flowers. Following cremation, memorials services will be held at 5 p.m. Saturday, April 29, 2006 at Iago Federated Church in Iago. Survivors include: her husband, Karl McLeod of Iago; daughter, Marla McLeod-Ali of Portland, Oregon; sons, Glenn Hayes of Marble Falls, Jay Hearn of Iago, John McLeod and wife, Shelly of Ft. Worth, Darrel Hearn and wife, Becky of Queen City, Texas, Scott McLeod of Maui, Hawaii and Wesley Hearn and wife, Joy of Alvin; sister, Kay Parker and husband, Bill of Bay City; grandchildren, Levret Hayes, Sonja Wyatt, Journey Hayes, Omri Hayes, Jeremy Peyton, Bryan Hearn, Walsh Hearn, Will Hearn, Megan Hearn, Justen Hearn, Jakob Hearn, Emma McLeod, Safia McLeod-Ali, Leyla McLeod-Ali and Elijah McLeod-Ali; great grand daughter, Kyla Ann Peyton.
