He served in the U.S. Navy during WWII and retired from South Western Bell Telephone Company with 36 years service. He then operated his own commercial shrimp boat for 15 years. Survivors include: wife of 58 years, Nalene Pick Nauman; sons, Barry Lee Nauman and wife, Rita, and Brad Alan Nauman; daughter, Carol Renee Suggs and husband, Garvin all of Bay City, Texas; seven grandchildren, Alan and Jennifer Nauman, Stephanie Nauman, Addie Nauman, Ashlee and Tony Pitta-Lima, Cordie Suggs, Jody Suggs, and Dusty Suggs; one great grandson, Matthew Nauman, and many cousins, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, many wonderful nephews and nieces and one brother, Arthur Neal Nauman of Katy, Texas. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, James Alfred Carlisle and a sister, Katherine Margaret Carlisle Bondurant. Visitation will be held from 6 until 8 p.m. on Thursday, April 13, 2006 at Sheffield Funeral Home, Temple, Texas. Graveside Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, April 14, 2006, at the Hope Memorial Cemetery, Buckholts, Texas with the Reverend Gary Kleypas officiating.
