Olen was born in LaMesa, Texas on November 28, 1923 to Julia and Andrew Provence. Olen was a long time resident of Bay City and Clarksville, Texas and resided in New Braunfels, Texas during the last two years of his life. Olen leaves behind his beloved wife, Naomi and children, Mary Kile and spouse, Robert of Houston, Robert Provence and spouse Diane of Conroe, Julia Roseman and spouse, Vernon of Houston, Mary Jo Fox and spouse Charles of New Braunfels, Naomi Lee Chriswell and spouse Eddie of Ninety Six, South Carolina, Freddie Kile and spouse Carolyn of Van Vleck, and Herman Kile and spouse Kim of Cedar Lane. Also bereaved by his passing are twenty four grandchildren and thirty four great-grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Olen represented his country as a PFC in the Korean convict, stationed in Japan, Company I, 31st Infantry, Ft. Lawton, Washington. Olen was an employee of Dow Chemical, Freeport, Texas, for thirty-two years. Olen was preceded in passing by his mother, Julia and father, Andrew and all of his brothers and sisters, Lucille Martin, Edith Blackstock, Austin Provence, Isaac Provence, Nora Fox, Effie Todd, Myrtle Fox, and grandson, Michael Provence. Services arranged by Marshall Funeral Home in Aransas Pass, Texas, for April 13, 2006 at 10 a.m. Pall bearers will be Chris Provence, James Kile, Craig Kile, Steven Fox, Cain Christenson, and Danny Powell.
