Godsey Dec. 10, 1934-April 5, 2006 Tom A. Godsey, 71, of Bay City died April 5, 2006 at his residence. He was born December 10, 1934 in Belton, Texas to the late Ethridge Ezell and Roxie Love Mobely Godsey. Mr. Godsey was a resident of Bay City since 1977 and a former resident of Bryan, Texas, and was a member of the Baptist Church. In 1995 he retired from H L & P as a Nuclear Engineer. He also served in the U S Navy from 1956 to 1964. Survivors include: his wife Nancy Elizabeth Evans Godsey of Bay City; daughters and sons-in-law: Nancy Elaine & Richard Franze of Cypress, Texas, Sandra Dell & John Hill of Bay City, and Laura Sue & Don Merta of Richmond, Texas; sons and a daughter-in-law: Tom A. Godsey, Jr of Houston and Lawrence Edward & Cynthia Godsey of Round Rock, Texas; sisters: & brothers-in-law: Roxie Ann & Richard Long of Houston, Betty Hearne of Rockport, Texas and Nelda Mensey of Corpus Christi, Texas brothers & sisters-in-law: B. J. & Carlene Godsey of Corpus Christi, Texas , Dick & Candy Godsey of Mission, Texas, and Marlene Godsey of Victoria, Texas, 6 grandchildren: Rodney Earles & wife Rosa of Bryan, Ryan Smith and Renee Earles both of Bay City, Caitlyn, Holly, & Julie Merta all of Richmond, Texas; 4 great grandchildren: Lizi, Draven, & Emyli Earles all of Bryan and Shelbie Smith of Bay City; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brothers: Harry and E. E. Godsey, Jr. Funeral Service was held 10 a.m. Saturday, April 8, 2006 at Taylor Bros. Funeral Home with the Rev. Mike Zimmerman officiating. Interment followed at Hawley Cemetery with military honors provided by Philip H. Parker VFW Post 2438. Pallbearers were Michael Johnson, Gary Parkey, David Leazar, Jim Nestra, Billy Dykes, and Jim Bourn. Honorary Pallbearers were Cecil Roberts and Jim Sharp.
