She was born on March 29, 1928, in Port, Oklahoma. Mrs. Rainey was a homemaker and a 4-H leader. A funeral service was held at 1 p.m. Saturday, February 25, 2006, at Nobles Funeral Chapel with the Minister Glenn Easterly of Thornton, Texas, officiating. Interment was in Whitehall Fairview Cemetery under the direction of Nobles Funeral Chapel, Navasota. She is survived by: her husband, in which they celebrated their 58th wedding anniversary in September 2005, Allen Calvin Rainey, Sr.; son and daughter-in-law, Allen, Jr. and Sally Rainey of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; daughters and son-in-law, Lorena Jean Black of Houston, and Sue and Harold Starnes of Navasota; very dear friends, the Minister Glenn and Gay Easterly of Thornton; nine grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her father, William Sasser, and her mother, Maud Perrington Duke. Pallbearers were Jerome Brown, Kevin McKissick and John Elliot, all of Bay City, John New of Hillsboro, Brad Finley of Brenham, Clayton Douglas of Palestine, Tim Harvey of Blessing, David Hubbard of Van Vleck, and Glenn Easterly, Jr. of Thornton.
