Funeral services for George Joe Aguilar Sr., 71, of Fort Myers, Fla., were held March 18, 2006 at St. Anthony's de Padua Catholic Church with Rev. Charles Dwomoh officiating. Interment was be at Palacios Cemetery. Mr. Aguilar was born Feb. 22, 1935, in Palacios, to the late Jesus Sr. and Josephine Carrio Aguilar. He died March 5, 2005. He was a mechanic and a Catholic. He is survived by daughters, Naomi Aguilar of Conroe, Sherry Meek of South Houston, Elisa Garza of Beaumont, and Monica Aguilar of El Campo; sons, George Joe Aguilar Jr. of Norco, La., Johnny Wayne Aguilar of Calera, Ala., Louis Anthony Aguilar Sr. of La Place, La. and Ernest Rene Aguilar of Pasadena; sisters, Mary Garcia of Palacios, Charlotte DeLeon of Falfurrias, and Lupe Young of Arlington; brothers, Jesus "Jessie" Aguilar Jr. of Harvey, La., Julius Aguilar of Palacios, Mike Aguilar of Marrero, La. and Victor Aguilar of Arlington; 11 grandchildren; and one great-grandchildren.
