Albert was born on August 8, 1927, in Bay City, Texas. He was the third of seven children born to the late Richard Hubert and Carrie Ethel Lowe Legg. He grew up in Bay City and graduated from Bay City High School in 1945. Shortly after, he was inducted into the U.S. Army and received his Honorable Discharge July, 1947. He was baptized at the age of seven in the First Baptist Church of Bay City, where he maintained his membership. He was employed by Phillips Petrochemical Refinery in Sweeny, Texas for 37 years, retiring on January 1, 1990. His most passionate hobby was his carpentry work, which earned him side jobs. Albert was very proud of his grandchildren, and loved them all dearly. He was much loved as a husband, father and grandfather, and will be dearly missed by all. Survivors include: his beloved wife of 44 years, Barbara Turner Legg; daughters and son-in-law, Donna Legg Wooten of Venus, Texas, and Melissa and Mark Rehak of Clear Lake, Texas; son, Brian Mark Legg of Houston, Texas; four sisters, Neva Myers Kelch of Amarillo, Texas, Norma McDonald and husband Gene, Margie Quinn and husband Rex, and Billie Suffling, all of Bay City, Texas; brother, Luster Legg of Mexia, Texas; nine grandchildren, Crystal Green and Terry Hodge of Venus, Texas, Sean, Mark, Tyler and Nicole Legg of Houston, and Brentley, Tristan and Shaela Rehak of Clear Lake, Texas; three great-grandchildren, Kayla, Marshall and Isiah of Venus, Texas; and many nieces and nephews and cousins. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by: his oldest brother, Richard Byron Legg, who was killed in World War II; a daughter, Karen Lynn Legg; granddaughter, Kaitlyn Brianne Rehak; and two brothers-in-law, John Myers and Richard Suffling. Funeral service was held at 2 p.m. Thursday, February 16, 2006, at Taylor Bros. Funeral Home, with the Rev. Mike Zimmerman officiating. Interment followed at Roselawn Memorial Park Cemetery in Van Vleck, Texas. Pallbearers were Terry Gibson, Sean Legg, Terry Hodge, Jimmy Turner, Brent Rehak and Mark Legg.
