George Miler Mr. George Miler, a prominent farmer and much respected citizen of the Markham community, died at Galveston after a brief illness, on the night of February 8, at the age of 39 years, and was buried in the Danevang cemetery on the afternoon of February 15, in the presence of a large gathering of friends and acquaintances. As a mark of respect all places of business and the public schools closed for half the day on the day of the fuineral. Decedent has been in Matagorda County for 25 years. Surviving him here are his mother, Mrs. L. [F.] G. Miler and brother, Fred of Markham. A brother, Herman Miler, of Denver, Colo., and a brother Martin Miler and a sister of Nebraska, also survive. There were all present at the burial of their son and brother. Mr. Miler was a member of the Lutheran church. He was a man of honor and integrity and was admired for his frank, open methods by all who knew him. His death is looked upon as a distinct loss to Markham and vicinity.
