She was born on February 6, 1915 in Hillje, Texas, Brownson Community, to the late Albert and Mary Macek Holub. On November 17, 1941 she married James Spurr, and they were happily married for 58 years. She was a homemaker and a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church in Bay City, Holy Cross Altar Society, and the K.J.Z.T. She is survived by: her sons, Stanley Lee Spurr and wife Cynthia of Sugar Valley, James Raymond Spurr Sr. and wife Jo of Houston, Christopher Theodore Spurr of Bay City, Roland Andrew Spurr of Matagorda, and Wayne Henry Spurr and wife Debbie of Friendswood; grandchildren, James Raymond Spurr, Jr., Johanna Renee Spurr, Sarah Augusta Wendel, Christy Marie White and Stanley Lee Spurr; great-grandchildren, Gibsen Ray Spurr, Lauren Gail Spurr, Ethan James Wendel, and Charlie Lee White III. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son Charles Albert Spurr, sister, Julie Holub, and brothers, Victor and Andrew Holub. Visitation will be at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, May 17, 2006 at St. Andrews Catholic Church in Hillje. A rosary will be recited at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday followed by funeral services at 2 p.m. Interment will follow at St. Andrews Catholic Cemetery under the direction of Triska Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be James Raymond Spurr, Jr., Stanley Lee Spurr, Ricky Wendel, Charlie White, John Holub, and David Bucek. The family requests that memorial donations be made to the Holy Cross Catholic School Foundation, 2001 Katy Street, Bay City, Texas 77414. Arrangements are under Triska Funeral Home; 979-543-3681.
