She was born on November 1, 1913, in Leroy, Louisiana. Lydia was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Brazoria and an area resident for 69 years. She was very active in the Home Demonstration Club and St. Joseph’s Altar Society. Lydia was also a great seamstress and cook. She is survived by: son, Shelby Guidry and wife Barbara of Houston; daughter, Mona Guidry Craft, and husband Bob of Bay City; daughter-in-law, Janis Guidry of Brazoria; sisters-in-law, Mrs. Henry Guidry of Rosenberg, Annabel Guidry of Brazoria, and Mrs. Agnes Guidry of Lafayette, Louisiana; 10 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by: parents, Malcolm and Cora Addison; husband, Louis Guidry; and son, Bennie Guidry. Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, October 29, 2005, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Brazoria, with the Father Tin Pham officiating. Visitation was from 5 until 8 p.m. on Friday, October 28, 2005, at Baker Funeral Home in Brazoria. A rosary was recited at 7 p.m. Friday, October 28, 2005, at Baker Funeral Home in Brazoria. Burial followed at Brazoria Cemetery. Pallbearers were her grandsons. Honorary pallbearers were Ellis Roundtree, Todd Roundtree, Ronald Dudley and Father Mike.
