He was born April 27, 1943, in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma, to Roy Wayne, Sr. and Mila Frances Smith Sanders. He was a resident of Galveston for the past 22 years, a member of the Baptist Church and was a musician. Survivors include: parents, Roy and Mila Sanders, Sr. of Bay City, Texas; sister, Debra Saffell of Baytown; and nephew, Larry Sims of Spring, Texas. He was preceded in death by his sister, Mila Beth Sims. Graveside funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Cedarvale Cemetery, with the Rev. Mike Zimmerman officiating.
