Alexander June 28, 1952 - Nov. 4, 2005 Funeral services for Minister John L. Alexander, “Mr. Motion,” 53, of Richwood, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, November 12, 2005, at Bethlehem Christian Church in Cedar Lake, Texas, with the Rev. Kenneth Bree officiating, and the Rev. Lewis Roberson will bring the message. Burial will follow at Bethlehem Cemetery in Cedar Lake, Texas. He died Friday, November 4, 2005, at Brazosport Memorial Hospital in Lake Jackson, Texas. He was employed by Dow Chemical for over 28 years before retiring. He was a 1970 graduate of Van Vleck High School. He attended and served on the board at Greater Works Ministries in Angleton, Texas, under the leadership of Pastor Thomas R. Woodard. Survivors include: father, Elery Alexander, Cedar Lake; sons, Michael Ward (Danielle) of Humble, Everette Hawkins of Houston, John Alexander of Richwood, and Joel Alexander (Nikkie) of Brazoria; brothers, Wayne Alexander (Catherine) of Houston, and Elery J. Alexander (Rosie) of Cedar Lake; eight grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends. Active pallbearers will be Bobby Smith, Albert Smith, Jr., Hollis Woodard, Michael Wyren, James Holmes and Thomas Bernard. Honorary pallbearers will be Clifford Bernard, Jr., Robert Clay, Joe Young, Otis Petteway, Jr., Willie Carter, Jr., James Wright, Carl Brown, Wilbert Hall, Jerome Brown and Larry Young. Visitation will be from noon until 8 p.m. on Friday, November 11, 2005, at Dixon Funeral Home in Brazoria, Texas. There will be viewing at the church from 10 until 11 a.m. on Saturday, November 12, 2005, only. There will be no viewing afterwards. Send online condolences to www.dixonfuneralhome.com.
