Funeral services for James Robert Wilson, Sr., 79 of Palacios, will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, Nov. 14, 2005 at the Palacios Funeral Home with Rev. Gary Wilson officiating. Interment will be at Palacios Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2-8 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 13 at Palacios Funeral Home. Mr. Wilson was born March 28, 1929 in Calvert, TX to Theodore William Wilson and Naoma McNeally Wilson. He died Nov. 11, 2005. He was a long time resident of Palacios and Victoria and a member of the Nazarene Chuch. A 38-year law enforcement veteran, he retired as Chief of Police of the City of Palacios Police Dept in Aug. 1985 after having held that position for 11 years. He had previously been with the Matagorda County Sheriff’s Dept. for 10 years. He had also operated Wilson’s Grocery Store in Palacios. He is survived by his wife, Alma Jo Tippett Wilson of Palacios; daughters and sons-in-law Pam and Garry Seaman of Palacios, and Ruth and Ray Dody of Austin; brothers Tom and Eugene Wilson of Victoria; and grandchildren James Seaman, Garry Seaman, Jr. and Michelle Janise Atkinson. He was preceded in death by his parents Theodore W. and Naoma Wilson; and by his son James Robert Wilson, Jr. Arrangements are with Palacios Funeral Home, Palacios, TX (361) 972-2012.
