Oct. 10, 2005 at Hawthorn Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. W.C. "Bill" Everett officiating. Graveside services were held Oct. 11 at Palacios Cemetery. Mrs.Cox was born Dec. 29, 1920, in Yoakum. She died Oct. 8, 2005 in Longview, Tx. She and her husband owned and operated a shrimp boat in Palacios for many years. She was a member of Central Baptist Church and loved to sew, quilt, and play "88," although her greatest joy came from serving others. Survivors include her sister, Emmabel Goolsby.
