She was born August 15, 1948, in Atlanta, Georgia, to the late Eugene Thomas and Annie Jo Terrell Stanford. Mrs. Stanford was a resident of Bay City for the past 14 months and a former longtime resident of Roswell, Georgia. Survivors include: daughter and son-in-law, Christie and Roger Dement of Van Vleck, Texas; sisters, Billie Kilgore and Sandy McBryant, both of North Carolina; brothers, Eugene Stanford, Jr. and James Stanford, both of Georgia; two grandchildren, Lyndee Leigh Dement and Megan Marie “Meg” Dement, both of Van Vleck, Texas; and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral service was at 4 p.m. Friday, September 9, 2005, at the First Baptist Church in Van Vleck, with the Rev. Mike Zimmerman officiating. Interment followed at Roselawn Memorial Park in Van Vleck. Pallbearers were Clint Ballinger, Craig Kucera, Shannon Champion, Jeff Riddell, Mike Riddell and Dwaine Dement. Contributions or memorial may be made to the First Baptist Church of Van Vleck Building Fund or to the American Heart Association. Arrangements are with Taylor Bros.
