Berenice was born in Milan, Minnesota, to John and Kristine Lund. Berenice was a Registered Nurse and had studied nursing at the Rochester School of Nursing and the Mayo Clinic. She resided for many years in Bay City, Texas, where she worked as a hospital oncology nurse, a clinic nurse and, for many years, a school nurse for the Bay City ISD. Berenice was a member of the Lutheran Church of Appleton, Minnesota, and she attended the Presbyterian Church of Gonzales. She served in the United States Army as a second lieutenant in the Philippines during WWII. Bernenice was a member of the Appleton, Minnesota, VFW. Berenice is survived by: two sons, Hamilton Wadsworth “Pip” Savage III, and wife Terri of Austin, Texas, and John Morris Savage and wife Robyn of Blessing, Texas; one daughter, Christine Eberle and husband Steiner of Gonzales, Texas; six grandchildren, Stefanie Kristine Eberle, Jessica Anna Eberle Steakley, Sundie Kristine Savage Dahlkamp, Kristine Nicole Savage Krahmer, William Jordan Savage and Emily Kaye Savage; one great-grandchild, Anna Christine Steakley; and one sister, Harriet Morton of St. Paul, Minnesota. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Clarence Oscar Lund. Memorial services will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, November 5, 2005, at the Zion Lutheran Church in Appleton, Minnesota, with the Pastor Scott Nagel officiating.
