Buddy will be greatly missed by everyone that knew him. His children and grandchildren called him Honey and Pa-Pa. He worked for the Brazoria County Sheriff’s Department for 15 years as a criminal investigator. He was a member of the 100 Club and National Rifle Association. He liked to do woodwork, loved cows and horseback riding. He is survived by: his wife, Emily Truitt, Brazoria; sons, George “Skeeter” Allen Truitt (Valeria) of New Bern, North Carolina, Jerry Wayne Truitt (Georgia) of Rosharon, Charles Edward Truitt (Terrie) of Milano; daughter, Deborah Jean Stewart (David “Bud” Ewing) of Van Vleck; brothers, Hillary “Shorty” Leo Truitt (Altha) of Groesbeck, Billy Gene Truitt (Amy) of Tomball, Jake Truitt (Louise) of Brazoria, and Percy Ray Truitt (Linda) of Sweeny; sisters, Willie Lee Wernecke (Harry) of Brenham, Gloria Clarice Harlan and Georgie Leona Franklin, both of Brazoria, and Mary Bob Hockett (Brent) of Mineola; 21 grandchildren: 26 great-grandchildren; and other relatives and friends.
