Mary was born August 5, 1955, in Bay City, Texas, to Roosevelt Green, Sr. and Carrie Woodard Green of Cedar Lane. She graduated in 1973 from Van Vleck High School in Van Vleck, Texas, and continued her education at Brazosport College in Lake Jackson, Texas and received an associate of applied science degree. Mary was preceded in death by: her daughter, Ashley Faye Bryant; brother, Roosevelt Green, Jr.; and step-daughter, Renee Bryant. She is survived by: her husband, William C. Bryant, Sr.; daughter, Monalisa Green Bryant; stepson, William C. Bryant, Jr.; sisters, Verna Green, Dinah Murphy, Evelyn Steptoe (Robert), Brenda Raymond (Frank), Alnita Brown, Flora Goodwin (John), and Katie Sampson (Lee); brothers, Ervin Green (Gwen), Clarence Green (Cassandre) and Robert Green (Carol); sisters-in-law, Evelyn Lewis (Leon), Shirley Hills, Linda Davison, Cora Jessie (Luther) and Roxie Bryant; brothers-in law, Jesse Bryant, Sr., Elder Alvis Bryant (Gloria) and Abe Bryant (Penny); godchildren, Dedrick Murphy, Carrie, Joseph and Bruce Sampson; step-grandchildren, Charika Fulton, Bethany and Donta Bryant; Caretaker, Hugh Davidson; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Visitation will be from noon to 8 p.m. and family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, October 31, 2005. Home going service will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, November 1, 2005, at Bethlehem Christian Church in Cedar Lane, Texas, with the Rev. K.W. Bree officiating in lieu of her pastor, M.L. Griggs, Sr., of First Berean Missionary Baptist Church of Cedar Lane, Texas, who will be unable to attend.
