She was born April 8, 1923, in Needville, Texas, to the late Joe and Mary Jashek Boone. Mrs. Keyes was a resident of Bay City for the past 60 years and was a Baptist. Survivors include: husband, Alvin C. Keyes of Bay City; sons and daughters-in-law, James Hanzik of Bay City, Ronald W. and Judy Hanzik of Aiken, South Carolina, Gerald and Pam Hanzik of Richwood, and Gail T. Hanzik of Wadsworth; sister, Laizetta Price of West Columbia; brother, Joe Boone of Guy, Texas; by eight grandchildren, Jamie Anderson and husband Link of Van Vleck, Amber and Angel Hanzik, both of Van Vleck, Lisa Hanzik of Houston, Leslie Hubbard of Sweeny, Kiersten Hanzik of Shelton, Washington, and Daniel and Krystal Hanzik, both of Bay City; and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by: her son, Danny Hanzik; sisters, Florence Rhiner and Myrtle Reeves; and brother, Frank Boone. Funeral service was held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, November 9, 2005, at Taylor Bros. Funeral Home, with the Rev. Mike Zimmerman officiating. Interment followed at Roselawn Memorial Park in Van Vleck. Pallbearers were Link Anderson, Lee Hubbard, Eugene Welfel, John Paul Bundick, Timmy Goodman and Milton Poehls.
