He was 77 years old, born August 12, 1928, in Bay City, Texas, to W.D. “Pete” and Ruby Star Williams. He was a 1947 Bay City High School graduate. He also served his country proudly during the Korean War. Leland retired from Alcoa Aluminum after many years of service. Leland is survived by: his wife, Virgie Williams; son, Gordon Lee Williams; grandsons, Lance Williams and wife, Kelly, Corey Williams, Tony Williams and Jake Williams; granddaughter, Jodi Williams; great-granddaughters, Lauren and Emily; step-children, Brady and Donna Watson, Mark Watson, Dan and Lisa Watson, and Laurie and Allen Junek; step-grandchildren, Shannon Watson, Kelly Watson, A.J. Watson, Casey Watson, Hunter Junek and Kinsey Junek; and first cousin, Adene Johnson and husband, Mark. Leland brought laughter to his family and friends and will be missed by everyone who ever knew him. He was preceded in death by his parents and his youngest son, Terry M. Williams. Visitation was held from 6 until 7 p.m. Friday, November 25, 2005, in Richardson-Colonial Funeral Home. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Saturday, November 26, 2005, in the First Baptist Church, Port Lavaca. Burial was to follow in Port Lavaca Cemetery. Pallbearers will be his grandsons, Tony Williams, Jake Williams, Lance Williams, Corey Williams, A.J. Watson, Hunter Junek, Casey Watson and Shannon Watson. Honorary pallbearers will be Jack McClain, Ted Randall, Ben Comisky, J.B. Gamilton, Wayne Bellah, Gene Scott, Joe Shafer, Ed Myers, John Bellah, Jim Badgett and David Denham.
