He was born November 3, 1933, in Lavaca County, Texas, to the late Ernest George and Agnes May Chapman Reckaway. Mr. Reckaway was a member of the Baptist Church, a resident of Bay City since 1958 and was a veteran of the Korean War, serving in the U.S. Army. Survivors include: son, Barry Reckaway of Bay City; two sisters, Betty Dibbern of Bay City, and Grace Hans of Highlands, Texas; and by two grandchildren. Graveside funeral service was at 10 a.m. Monday, October 24, 2005, at Roselawn Memorial Park Cemetery in Van Vleck, Texas, with the Rev. Chester Sassman officiating. Arrangements with Taylor Bros.
