He died in Bay City, Texas on January 6, 2006 after a courageous struggle with cancer. He was preceded in death by: his parents, B. C. and Elma K. Roberts; brother, Lorn Roberts; sister, Carlene Illgen; sister and brother-in-law, Nina and Marlin Collier; son, Douglas Roberts Paul is survived by: his wife of 39 years, Billie Roberts; sons, Carl Roberts and daughter-in-law, Anna, Frank Hannah, Jim Roberts and daughter-in-law, Michelle, Ralph Hannah, Daniel Roberts and daughter-in-law, Kathy; 14 grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and a host of family and friends also survive him. Paul was especially close to his church family at the Church of Christ at 1200 Nichols Street in Bay City, Texas. Following Paul’s retirement from Dow Chemical, he devoted much of his life to serving his Lord by establishing food programs in several cities, caring for those in need. This world is a better place because of his love for others and his life of service. A memorial service will held at 10 a.m. on January 21, 2006 at the Church of Christ Christ located at 1200 Nichols Street in Bay City, Texas. The family request no flowers be sent. Memorial donations may be sent to the Paul Roberts memorial fund at the Church of Christ at 1200 Nichols Street in Bay City, Texas 77414.
