Tom Connolly officiating. Interment was in the Palacios Cemetery. Son of Jeff and Clemmie Countiss Hogg, he was born May 18, 1887, in Bell County, Texas. A retired farmer, he had been a resident of Matagorda County since 1913. He passed away July 30 in Citizens Memorial Hospital in Victoria after a lingering illness. He was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy, on March 21, 1968, and a son, Ernest Bascom, on September 18, 1970. He is survived by one son, Leroy of Palacios; two sisters, Miss Lucille Hogg of Bay City and Mrs. Mac Robertson of Merkel, Texas; four grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
