Keyes, 80, of Bay City, Texas, died December 24, 2005, at Bay Villa Nursing Center in Bay City. He was born July 8, 1925, in Davidson, Oklahoma, to the late Ernest Rayborn and Bessie Elvira Etter Keyes. He was a resident of Bay City since 1973 and a member of the Golden Avenue Baptist Church. Survivors include: daughters and sons-in-law, Blenda Kay Kluth of Harlingen, and Rowena Nanette and David Outlaw of Boling; sons and daughters-in-law, Lynne Earl and Jenna Johnson of Pearland, Alvin C. and Millance Keyes, Jr. of Anahuac, and David Allen and Nimfa Keyes of McQueeney, Texas; step-sons and daughters-in-law, James Hanzik of Bay City, Ronald and Judy Haznzik of Adkins, South Carolina, Gerald and Pam Hanzik of Richwood, Texas, and Gail T. Hanzik of Wadsworth; sisters, Claudine Boudoin of Magnolia, Alene Bookout of LaPorte, Pat Griffet of Montgomery, and Jackie Goode of Grapevine; brother, Eddie Lynn Keyes of California; 14 grandchildren: Bobby R. Preston, Jr., David Clark Lynn Preston, Michael Wayne Preston, Alvin C. Keyes, III, Melissa Kay Weaver, Justin Cody, Clifton Ray, Savannah Marie, David A. Jr., and Daniel R. Keyes, Nichole A. Young, Dawn, Patience and Christopher Johnson; seven step-grandchildren, Jamie Anderson and husband Link, Wesley Hubbard, Daniel, K! rystal, Keirsten, Angel and Amber Hanzik; 19 great-grandchildren; and a host of step-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by: his wife, Odessa Keyes; daughter, Stacy Lynn Keyes; sister, Florence Short; brothers, Carl, Robert Earl and Rayford Douglas Keyes; and grandchildren, Shawn Robert Keyes and Christopher Daniel Kluth. Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, December 28, 2005, at Taylor Bros. Funeral Home, with the Rev. Mike Zimmerman officiating. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park in Van Vleck. Pallbearers include David Keyes, Jr., Daniel Keyes, Tommy and Timothy Burleson, and Pedro Hernandez. Arrangements with Taylor Bros. Funeral Home in Bay City.
