His son, Robert, and grandson, Marcus, were always close by his side. John served the Royal British Army in World War II. After the war, he developed his skills as a master craftsman, taking old structures and making them beautiful and timeless homes for the ages. After he and his family moved to New Zealand, John continued to remodel homes up until the last year. His craftsmanship was his art. John will be missed by his best friend and devoted sister, Nancy Ryman of Bay City, Texas, and a host of neices and nephews and grandchildren around the world.
