Glenn had worked for 20 years at Green Valley School. He will be greatly missed by his fellow teachers, administrators and especially by the students. He was born on Oct. 3, 1918, in Nada, the son of the late Henry Wobbe and Elizabeth Boenisch Wobbe. Mr. Wobbe had been a resident of Pledger since 1978 and was a former resident of Wharton and New Gulf. He married Margaret Valencia Baca on June 25, 1946, in Wharton. Mr. Wobbe was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Army. He was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Boling. Mr. Wobbe worked with Texas Gulf Sulphur Company for 32 years was a supervisor in the machine shop for four years before his retirement in 1984. He was also preceded in death by a brother Henry Wobbe in 1967. A rosary was held at 7 p.m. Friday, Dec. 2, 2005, at Wharton Funeral Home and a funeral mass was held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 3, 2005, at Holy Family Catholic Church in Wharton with Rev. Carlos Lynch officiating. Burial followed in Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery in Wharton with military graveside honors provided by American Legion Post No. 87 of Wharton.
