He was born December 10, 1934 in Belton, Texas to the late Ethridge Ezell and Roxie Love Mobely Godsey. Mr. Godsey was a resident of Bay City since 1977 and a former resident of Bryan, Texas, and was a member of the Baptist Church. In 1995 he retired from H L & P as a Nuclear Engineer. He also served in the U S Navy from 1956 to 1964. Survivors include: his wife Nancy Elizabeth Evans Godsey of Bay City; daughters and sons-in-law: Nancy Elaine & Richard Franze of Cypress, Texas, Sandra Dell & John Hill of Bay City, and Laura Sue & Don Merta of Richmond, Texas; sons and a daughter-in-law: Tom A. Godsey, Jr of Houston and Lawrence Edward & Cynthia Godsey of Round Rock, Texas; sisters: & brothers-in-law: Roxie Ann & Richard Long of Houston, Betty Hearne of Rockport, Texas and Nelda Mensey of Corpus Christi, Texas brothers & sisters-in-law: B. Interment followed at Hawley Cemetery with military honors provided by Philip H. Parker VFW Post 2438. Titt June 29, 1915 - April 2, 2006 Robert L. "Bob" Titt, 90, of Victoria and formerly of Van Vleck passed away Sunday, April 2, 2006 at the Linwood Place Nursing Home in Victoria. He was born in Durango, Colorado on June 29, 1915 to parents, Francis John "Frank" and Mary Eliza Current Titt. He married Annie Shafer on August 9, 1940. He served in the United States Navy as a Pharmacist Mate First Class from 1932 until 1945 and was a veteran of World War II. He worked as a security guard at the Phillips Petroleum Plant in Old Ocean before his retirement several years ago. He was preceded in death by: his parents; sons, Robert Frank Titt and James William Tate; and a brother, William Harold Titt. He is survived by: his wife of 65 years, Annie Shafer Titt of Victoria; a son and daughter-in-law, Kenneth W. and Peggy Titt of Victoria; half brother, Francis Mark McCarty of Aztec, New Mexico; and seven grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren. A visitation was scheduled at Bay City Funeral Home from 4 until 6 p.m. Tuesday, April 4, 2006. Funeral services will be held at the Bay City Funeral Home Chapel at 10 a.m. Wednesday, April 5, 2006 with the Rev. Jack Hudson officiating. Pallbearers will include Chris Titt, Rick Baird, Cameron Brooks, Val Walleck, Bennie Stevens, and Boogie Stevens. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park in Van Vleck. It included a full law honor guard with bagpipes and the 21 gun salute and the last call, attended by Texas law enforcement officers. Mr. Brush was born Sept. 22, 1945, in Slaton, to the late Richard C. and Geneta Maxey Brush. He died March 27, 2006. He was Chief of Police for the City of Point Comfort and had previously been Security Officer for the Palacios Housing Authority. He was an active member of First Baptist Church in Point Comfort where he was a Sunday School teacher and an usher. He is survived by his wife Linda Wheeler McCauley Brush, whom he married on June 20, 1988. He is also survived by sons and daughters-in-law Mike and Dana Moore of Belton, Robert and Cathy McCauley of Gonzales, James and Stephanie McCauley of Port Lavaca, Stephen and Jennifer McCauley of Austin; daughters and sons-in law Sammie Gonzales of Idalou, Michelle and Shawn Wehmeyer of Port Lavaca, Jennifer and Johnny Mikolas of Seadrift and Tara and John Voges of Port Lavaca; 18 grandchildren, Wesley and Travis Moore, Tiffany and Chelsea McCauley, Foreman, Walker and Gracie McCauley, Carly and Madison McCauley, Brittanie and Courtanie Gonzales, Garrett, Meghan and Justin Wehmeyer, Tessa, Torri and Ethan Mikolas and Trenton Voges; brother and sister-in-law Gary and Jan Brush of Slaton; and sister and brother-in-law Sandy and Weldon Self of Slaton. Jones Ray July 3, 1921 - March 30, 2006 Willie C. "Chris" Jones Ray was born July 3, 1921 in Goree, Texas to Dibrell George and Jessie Myrtle Gulick Jones. She passed from this earth Thursday, March 30, 2006. Chris was a long time resident of Matagorda County, having resided in both Markham and Van Vleck for over twenty years. Chris served in World War II as an Army General Duty Nurse. She saw duty in India and Burma, receiving an Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal with a Bronze Star. As a First Lieutenant, Chris was honorably discharged in 1946. After the Army, Chris became a registered nurse and the wife of Vernon Ray, having met him while both were attending Texas Tech. After first teaching nursing in Pasadena, Chris continued her career as Director of Nurses at Matagorda General Hospital. She became the first school nurse for the Tidehaven ISD and served as such until her retirement in 1986. Chris was preceded in death by her parents, Vernon, her husband of over fifty years in 2003, three brothers David, Harold and George Jones and one sister Leola Jones Smith. She is survived by: sons, Frankie Ray and Cindy Wright of Jones Creek and Richard and Marsha Ray of Fayetteville, Arkansas; one grandson, Kole Ray of Austin; four granddaughters, Kristyn Ray of Denton and Courtney, Laura and Katie Ray all of Fayetteville, Arkansas; one brother, Everette Jones of Weatherford, Texas; and numerous nieces and nephews. Chris was a kind, dear friend and neighbor to all who knew her as well as a loving wife, mother, nanny and sister to her family. She continued to administer nursing assistance to those in need. Her spirit, gentleness and generosity will be deeply missed by all. Visitation will be Sunday, April 2, 2006 from 6 until 7 p.m. at Taylor Bros. Funeral Home. She was born May 13, 1931, in Markham, Texas, to Hamp Morgan, Sr. and Vella Harrison Morgan, and passed away March 28, 2006, in Houston, Texas. Survivors include: six daughters, Delorian Morgan-Jones and Martha Morgan, both of Houston, Brenda Morgan and July, Debra Eaton, Linda Eaton, and Shawn Eaton and Claudis, all of Bay City; and four sons, Kenneth Eaton and Felecia of Houston, Darryl Eaton and Angulette of Beaumont, Leonard Eaton, Sr. and Felecia and Boyd Eaton and Lawanna, of Bay City. Also two sisters, Mary Lee Roberts of Houston, and Eddie Steve Dunbar of Bay City, and three brothers, Gifford Morgan and Charles Courtney, both of Houston, and Eugene Moore and Susie of Wharton. Also one sister-in-law, Everlina Kuykendall, and one brother-in-law, Richard Eaton, Sr., both of Bay City; 30 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchildren, four god-children, a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Eddie Eaton in 1983, one son, Eddie Morgan in 1970, and four brothers, Clemmon Patterson, Hamp Morgan, Jr., Cleronia Morgan, Sr. and Gene Moore.
