A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 6, 2006 in San Geronimo Cemetery, in Seguin. The Rev. Jeremy Roy will officiate. Visitation will be at Goetz Funeral Home from noon until 9 p.m. Friday, May 5, 2006 with the family receiving friends from 5 until 7 p.m. Mrs. Fanson was born February 8, 1912 in Yoakum to Alexander Stoermer, Jr. and Frances Marie Kupka Stoermer. On September 26, 1935 she married George Lyman Fanson in Victoria. Mrs. Fanson and her husband operated Fanson’s Texaco Service Station for 20 years. She started Brownie and Girl Scout Troops in the Seguin area and served on the local Girl Scout Board, as well as the Girl Scout area advisory board. She also served as director of Girl Scout day camps. She was a member of Emanuel’s Lutheran Church for 50 years where she was a member of Ladies Aid and RSVP Quilters. Survivors include: her daughter, Annette Krause and husband John of Seguin; grandchildren, Eric and Elizabeth Polinard Krause of Johnson City, John and Sara Cowels Krause of Austin, Peter and Melanie Steffen Krause of Marion and Edie and Matthew Smithey of Seguin; great-grandchildren, Amber, Derek and Candace Krause, J. R. Krause, Michael, Jeremy and Gabriel Polinard-Krause and Hailey and Tyler Smithey; sister, Doris Scheibal of Livingston and sister-in-law, Jenne Fae Stoermer of Albuquerque, New Mexico. Mrs. Fanson was preceded in death by her husband George Lyman Fanson; an infant son, Gerald Lyman Fanson; parents, Alex and Frances Stoermer; brothers, James and Julius Stoermer; sisters, Minnie Ottis, Georgie Fulk, Irene Atkins and their spouses, one brother-in-law, and all of her Fanson in-laws. The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to one of the following charities: Hospice of Guadalupe Regional Hospital, the Seguin-Guadalupe County Public Library or the building fund of Emanuel’s Lutheran Church. She attended schools in Wisconsin, California, and Texas. Upon graduation from Iowa Park High School in June 1955, she graduated from Wichita General Hospital School of Nursing in August 1958. She also attended Midwestern University and Texas Tech University. She has been a Registered Nurse since 1958. Mrs. Cox worked at Lubbock Methodist Hospital for several years prior to returning to Iowa Park, Texas as a clinical instructor at Wichita General Hospital School of Nursing. She then entered public health nursing for Wichita County Public Health Department. Mrs. Cox moved to Victoria, Texas in 1974 and worked for Victoria County Health Department until her retirement in 1996. Ann and David moved to Bay City, Texas in January 1997, where she became a member of the First Baptist Church of Boling. Ann enjoyed traveling, her retirement, working in her flower gardens, and loving and playing with her grandchildren and her great grandson Zachary. Ann was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Zaliski, brother Fred R. Zaliski, and granddaughter Natalie Nichole Cox. She is survived by: her husband, David F. Cox; son, David F. Cox II and wife Nancy; daughter, Lisa Ann Cox; grandchildren, Madeline Leigh Ann Cox, Jennifer Lynn Sparkman and spouse James Soefje, Leslie Ann Sparkman, Dustin Hodges, and Melissa Krause; great grandchild, Zachary Thomas Soefje, and numerous nieces and nephews. The family would like to express their gratitude to the staff at Matagorda General Hospital in Bay City, Methodist Hospital in Houston, American Home Patient in Bay City, and Angels Home Healthcare in Bay City. An individual thanks to Dr. Hanna, Dr. O'Dwyer, Dr. Rorig, and pharmacist Mike Muecke. Visitation was held from 2 until 4 p.m . Sunday, April 30, 2006 at Wharton Funeral Home. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, May 1, 2006 at First Baptist Church in Boling, Texas with the Rev. Skip Holman officiating. Burial will follow in the Evergreen Cemetery in Wharton. George Miler Mr. George Miler, a prominent farmer and much respected citizen of the Markham community, died at Galveston after a brief illness, on the night of February 8, at the age of 39 years, and was buried in the Danevang cemetery on the afternoon of February 15, in the presence of a large gathering of friends and acquaintances. As a mark of respect all places of business and the public schools closed for half the day on the day of the fuineral. Decedent has been in Matagorda County for 25 years. Surviving him here are his mother, Mrs. L. [F.] G. Miler and brother, Fred of Markham. A brother, Herman Miler, of Denver, Colo., and a brother Martin Miler and a sister of Nebraska, also survive. There were all present at the burial of their son and brother. Mr. Miler was a member of the Lutheran church. He was a man of honor and integrity and was admired for his frank, open methods by all who knew him. His death is looked upon as a distinct loss to Markham and vicinity. Miller Mr. F. G. Miller, an old and highly respected citizen of Markham, died at that place Friday morning, July 25, aged seventy-two years. Mr. Miller was born in Hanover, Germany, February 14, 1841, and came to America with his parents at the age of eleven years. The family settle in Adams County, Illinois. He was wedded to Miss Tine Sathoff in 1863 and in 1865 moved to Nebraska, where they resided until 1899 when they moved to this county. Mr. Miller was county treasurer of Gage County, Nebraska, for three full terms, and was tax collector for a number of years. Mr. Miller was a farmer, and was successful in his business transactions, and was always honest and straight forward in all his dealings with his fellow man. He was held in the highest esteem in the community in which he spent his declining years. Immediate relatives surviving him are as follows: Two sisters and one brother, Mrs. E. J. He was born September 21, 1921, in Eagle Lake, Texas to the late William and Mattie Herrington Bricker. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Edgar "Dutch" Bricker. Robert was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church. He served in the U. S. Marine Corp during World War II and retired from Phillips Petroleum after 32 years. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Flossie Bertsch Bricker, and four children, Jack Bricker and wife Ruth of Tomball, Richard Bricker and wife Paula of Bay City, Mike Bricker and wife Phyllis of Beach City and David Bricker and wife Michelle of Houston. He is also survived by nine grand children, Jeffrey Bricker, Stephanie Bricker, Shane Bricker, Timothy Bricker, Mark Bricker, Jennifer Mammoser, Christina Bricker, Lauren Bricker and Madeleine Bricker and four great grandchildren, Kathryn Bricker, Hunter Mammoser, Mikey Mammoser and Maci Bricker. Robert was a devoted and loving husband, father and grandfather. He was a quiet and kind man with gentle, loving spirit. He will be sorely missed. Arrangements are being conducted by Taylor Brothers Funeral Home, Bay City with visitation on Sunday, April 23, 2006 from 5 to 7 o'clock p.m. in the funeral home chapel. Graveside services will be held at 2 o'clock p.m. on Monday April 24, 2006 at Lakeside Cemetery in Eagle Lake with the Rev. Eric Klimpel of St. Peter's Lutheran Church officiating.
