    3. Janice, I found a Zachariah Wimberly in early 1800 from N. Carolina. Names include Quinnie Mae, Pleasant, Warren, Amanda, Issac, Albert. One of Warren Wimberly's dtrs or sisters married one of my Phillips, Gum Phillips. Do any of these names connect? Blevins-Shults family is on page 71. Richard Blevins married Elizabeth "Betsy" Jones, a Cherokee Indian near Tenn. Richard's brother was Squire who also married an Indian. Richard's son, Armstead and Andrew Jackson Blevins went to Navarro co, Tx. Both married Shults girls. Armstead and Delila had the following children: Misanair, Seth Monroe, Martin J., and Wade H. "Buck". Monroe and Buck were Texas Rangers in 1861 and helped search for the captive Cynthia Ann Parker. All three sons joined the Civil War. There is more if this sounds like your kin. On page 196 is Joshua Brown Mayes who married Mary Blanche Hargon. children were Gordon, L.H., Elizabeth Gray, Ila, Blanche, Alice, Nora, Eugene, Naomi. Wiliam Hays Wallace married Elizabeth Gray Mayes and they had two sons; William Brown Wallace and Joe Thomas Wallace. William Brown Wallace married Elizabeth Patterson (Joe Tom Wallace) ((that's what is written! I'm just typing it) This was his favorite story while serving as Justice of Peace concerning a party given for the elite social circle of Llano at Buchanan Dam. The dam was still new when this took place in 1937. the hosts and hostesses included S. E. Chestnuts (grandson of J. B. mayes), and the Carlos Ashley Sr (District Attorney of Llano, San Saba, Burnet and several other counties). The main dish was fried fish. When Judge Mayes found out that the fish had been caught illegally. "The judge wouldn't budge" and he fined them for serving illegal fish! (submitted by Rebo Ray). There are 6 more paragraphs on John Mayes, Jr. If this is your family, let me know and I will type the rest that was submitted by Charlotte Gres. Found nothing on Spurling family. Happy hunting!
