Garrett circa 1880, (son of Merrill Simpson GARRETT and Margeret Helen COWAN), They lived most of their lives (and both died at the same time in Tow, Llano, TX of "The Fever")....Louisa's father was Rufus E. BUFFALOE b. 1834 NC married Frances COX (widow of James L. COX) b. 1824 possibly AL, Frances married several times, and migrated with her next husband, Francis Ashley to Texas, with her children, John Stevens COX, James L COX Jr, Martha Isabella COX, William Llewellen COX, Homa Jean BUFFALO, AND Louisa BUFFALO., she then later married Unknown COWAN in Tow, Llano, TX CIRCA 1875 (some researchers believe she married David Calvin Cowan)...she was living in his home on the Tow, Llano Census 1880....Leonard V. NOBLES was also listed as living next door....Frances' son has the name (Leonard), could be named after Frances' brother???..I am trying to find Frances' maiden name...was she a NOBLES??? There is a Frances Willerson NOBLES, daughter of Leonard NOBLES and sister to this same Leonard V. NOBLES born also 1824...she has a sister named Louisa Melvina NOBLES (same namesake as my ggggrandmother, Louisa Melvina BUFFALO...there are NOBLES living around the above families in both Arkansas and in Tow, Llano, TX..trying to fit a puzzle together, since the Tow, Llano courthouse burned in 1880... will gladly share information, Pam
