Can anyone help me with the following. In a letter I have my grandfather(Jesse Allen Cornett) talks about his father (William Henry Cornett) setting on a jury for a murder that happened during a feud. This feud was in San Saba County and trial moved to Llano on change of venue. The man on trial was convicted and sentenced to time in prison. His kin swore vengeance on judge and jury according to the letter. This would have taken place around 1898/9. Are there any news papers from that time period or court house records that old. I know so many of the older court houses have burned or had problems in their past and many records have been destroyed. Any assistance on this would be appreciated.
