Posted on: Llano County Queries Reply Here: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/Tx/Llano/312 Surname: GARRETT, BUFFALOE, NOBLES ------------------------- Cheryl, Hi...I emailed you directly, but let me try to get this down here for others also...First of all, I have a copy of a birth record for Louisa Melvina Buffalo Garrett's son, Merrial "Rufus" Garrett, which gives her birth year as 1863...further research led me to the Trail of the Buffalow, which lists Rufus E. Buffaloe m. (widow),Francis Cox, and they had two daughters, Homagama and Eliza Buffalo..another researcher of Homagama, Shelley, and I started digging, and she came up with a Texas probate record, showing the murder of James L. Cox (half brother to these to girls, who died after he was shot in the leg,) as being murdered by Homagama's husband, W.O. Tow...throughout the testimony, their mother is referred to as Mrs. Cowan...the girl's names are Mrs. Tow, and Mrs. Garrett (sisters, which helps prove that these women are related, it states their husband's names etc.)...I have been in contact with another researcher who states that Francis W. Nobles (standing for Willerson), from a Nobles family bible, that she was born April 5, 1824 (the same year as Francis M. Cox Buffaloe on the Trail of Tears...Francis Willerson Nobles has a sister named Louisa Melvina Nobles (which is coincidental also, because my Francis M. Nobles Buffaloe named her daughter (Eliza on the Trail of the Buffalow).who is..Louisa Melvina Buffalo, (my ggrandmother). I am trying to "prove" that Francis M. or W. Cox Buffaloe, Ashley, Cowan was a "Nobles"...this woman was married several times...in the 1880 Llano Census, Francis Cowan is living in the same house as her son-in-law Joseph V. Garrett, and his wife, (and her daughter), Louisa......according to another Garrett researcher, who is from Tow,Llano, this is the home of David Cowan according to the block number... these are all clues, and I am still digging for information...let me know what you think, I'm anxious to hear from you.
