The names of Roberts, and Tumlinson are two that come to mind. I hope there are others who have a family page or family reports in text format that would be willing to share with us all on the page. the Llano page URL is: http://www.rootsweb.com/~txllano/ The link on the Llano page is: http://www.rootsweb.com/~txllano/links.htm Below, is his message to me. Thought it would be of interest. Sue Ashby CRJ wrote: > To start with my name is Charles Johnson and I am living on lake LBJ >at this time. Included in this web page is a section on the people and history of Dimmit County and their connection to my family, the Roberts. My Roberts research has involved some of the Roberts who settled in this county (Llano) as early as 1843 and some of their children. I have included in this web page a fair collection of old pictures and some stories of those I have researched. I am also asking for any other info on the early settlers of this area that an! yo! ne might want to contribute to this web page under their own name. After all we do not own history, we share history. > My question is, is there some way that your Llano County sight might > place a link that would enable those of your visitors who might be > interested to visit my web page? Posted on: Llano County Queries Reply Here: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/Tx/Llano/354 Surname: MEEKS, POINTER, BLEVINS, JENNINGS, SHULTS ------------------------- Sorry, I've been out of town for about 10 days and I read the other response before I read this one!!!! Guess this answers the San Saba question. Some of the Blevins lived in San Saba Co. TX during the 1870's---area of Bowser, so I have been told. There were two intermarriages between males in the Blevins family with females in the Shults family. Some of the Shults brothers of these intermarriages also lived in San Saba Co. by 1870. Also living there among these were some of the Jennings group, who also intermarried with both Blevins and Shults--usually Shults males to Jennings women, but one instance of a Jennings male to a Blevins female as well as a Blevins male to a Jennings female. Confusing, YES!!!!!
Posted on: Llano County Queries Reply Here: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/Tx/Llano/352 Surname: BLEVINS, POINTER, MEEKS ------------------------- Yes, I'm sure there is a connection. There are frequent connections between these families in Tennessee,Arkansas, and Texas. Supposedly, it began in TN, Blount Co., I think, when Jeremiah Meek m. Elizabeth Blevins. These families are found together in Carroll Co. AR, Navarro Co. TX 1850 and so on. In regard to POINTER, I THINK, but can't recall for sure, that a Mrs. Diana Pointer or something like that married in San Saba Co. around the same time the ones mentioned earlier were in Llano Co.

Posted on: Llano County Queries Reply Here: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/Tx/Llano/350 Surname: Nance ------------------------- The 1900 census in Llano County lists a NANCE family consisting of Thomas (N or W) Nance 51 born in AR and wife Iola Nance 48 born in MS. Others in the household were Ollie E. Nance, Ada Nance, NUTE NANCE (son age 17 born June 1882 in TX), Douglas O. Nance, Hugh B. Nance, Josie Nance, and Sallie Nance. My husband's grandfather was NEWTON E. NANCE a.k.a. as NUTE NANCE. Our Nute Nance was living in Hopkins County TX by 1910 (age 26) with wife and several children. Can anyone tell me about the THOMAS & IOLA NANCE family that lived in Llano County and if it might possibly be the same Nute Nance?
Hi List, I received this message, yesterday. I looked in the index for the cemeteries that I have and find only one Shuman a Permelia. No Kelsays at all. Does anyone have any information that could help him? Thanks, Sue He says: Would there be anybody, that could check on a burial and a possible obit for me? The person in question was a Martha Shuman maiden name of Kelsay. She is alleged to have died on 23 December in Tow Valley, LLano County, Tx and was born 22 May 1818 in Barren county, KY and was married to David Shuman born 1815 died 1847. I am also looking David. They were married in 1837, so she may have remarried? We have been tracing him for years. Any Help would be deeply appreciated. William E Shuman of California
