If you can get the death certificate it should give the location of her gravesite. You can get the vital certificate in San Antonio, or you can go to the State Library in Austin, TX and go into the room that has all the bound birth and death records, find her name, date of death and the certificate number and send it to San Antonio. She was from the Llano area so i suspect she is buried in one of the cemetaries in the Llano area. She is from the Martin McDermott, Sr. family - her name is Sueanna McDermott Roy. Posted on: Llano County Biographies Reply Here: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/Tx/LlanoBios/10027 Surname: Wilbern, Moore ------------------------- In the biography of Betty Ricketson, there is at least one error. Lila Alice Wilbern, born Feb. 20, 1884 should be Lela Alice Wilbern. She married Charles Elbert Moore, April 30, 1905.
Posted on: Llano County Queries Reply Here: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/Tx/Llano/10421 Surname: Edwards ------------------------- Karylon, Are you related to any of the Llano Co. Edwards families? If so how? I found a George Lafayette Edwards and Mary Jane Harcrow from Upshire and Coryell Co.s who named their children names very much like Luke Moore and Martha Ellen Edwards. I wonder if Martha Ellen's family was in Texas too or if she came alone. From what I can gather, this George Lafayette was from Miss. and E.T. and Martha Ellen were from Tenn. I would love to see your connections. Dorothy Duncan P.S. I have the S.S. application for Fleming Fletcher (E.T.'s son) if you would like a copy, send me your mailing address and I'll send you what little I have.
Posted on: Llano County Queries Reply Here: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/Tx/Llano/10420 Surname: MOORE, EDWARDS ------------------------- Yes, I am aware of who E. T. Edwards was--he is supposed to have issued Llano Co.'s first marriage licence to my greatgrandfather, I.B. Maxwell. You misread what I wrote--I said I had never connected the two families since he did not live in the SAME AREA OF LLANO CO. as the Moore's did. The Moores lived in the area of Honey Creek/Dancer Mt., about 12 or so miles from the town of Llano. Any contact I had found with E.T. was in the town of Llano or in a different direction from town. Glad to know that there is a connection.
Posted on: Llano County Queries Reply Here: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/Tx/Llano/10419 Surname: Moore, Edwards ------------------------- I have visited with Adelaide as well as many other relatives of Luke and Martha. You mentioned that E.T. did not live in Llano - do you know where he lived? He was a County Court Clerk for a period of time as his name is on the wall in the court house annex. We have the probate records when he died and left his two children orphaned and he owned land in Bell County. I have him living with his mother,Jane in Llano City in 1860 and we think that it is his mother, Jane Edwards that is living next door to Luke Moore and Martha Ellen (Edwards) and their first born son Robert S. in Shannon County Missouri in the 1850 census. Let me know what you think. Thanks Dorothy Duncan
Posted on: Llano County Queries Reply Here: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/Tx/Llano/10418 Surname: MOORE, EDWARDS, HALLMARK ------------------------- I am not a MOORE descendant, but a relative of mine is. Her name is Adelaide Moore HALLMARK, and her e-mail address is adelaide@moment.net. She is not into genealogy in a big way, but she did write the article about this family in the local Family Album published a few years ago. I have never heard her discuss any Edwards relatives, other than Luke's wife, and I had never connected the two since E. T. seems to have lived elsewhere in the county. I have information from Luke's obituary published in the Llano local newspaper of the time, if interested. He lived to be 93. After Martha died, he remarried and had more children. Luke's obit says he was born in Van Buren Co.MO. KARUSSELL, Box 823, Llano, TX 78643 krussell@moment.net
Posted on: Llano County Queries Reply Here: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/Tx/Llano/10417 Surname: Moore, Edwards, Bedford, Talley, Cox ------------------------- My husband's great great grandparents were some of the first in Llano County. They were Luke Allen MOORE and Martha Ellen EDWARDS. I have tried to track down most of his children, grandchildren etc. but have still not been successful at finding either of their parents. I have made two trips back to Shannon Co. Missouri where they were in 1850 but still no luck. I think that Edwin T. Edwards ( a Llano County Clerk) was related to Martha Ellen but no proof. Probate records indicate that Luke and Martha were related but Martha died in 1882 as did E.T.( suspicious huh?) Their children were left in the guardianship of a J.C. Edwards whom I know nothing of either. I did locate one of their children's records in S.S. Fleming Fletcher Edwards died in ElPaso Tex and it lists his parents as Edwin Thomas Edwards and Martha Susan Cox and says that he was born 29 Sept. 1874 in Llano Tex. I have tried to locate the people listed on his mortuary information but have no success. If anyone knows or knows of anything or anyone that could help I would be eternally grateful. Dorothy Duncan
Posted on: Llano County Queries Reply Here: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/Tx/Llano/10416 Surname: Moore, Edwards ------------------------- Jo Ann, I have been to Llano 5 times now to do work on my husbands family and I've yet to meet you. I would like to find out how or if Luke Allen Moore was related to the Bedfords and Rileys. Some of Lucy Moore Bedford's children are buried in Honey Creek near Luke and I can't help but think that they are related. Lucy says on her tombstone that her father is "J.S." Moore which would give us something to go on if Luke and Lucy were related. Mississippi Moore is living with Lucy in the census and then she marries a Riley. No one in the Riley families know much about the Moore's. Can you enlighten me?
Posted on: Llano County Queries Reply Here: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/Tx/Llano/10415 Surname: Cox, Edwards ------------------------- Pam, I am looking for the marriage of Edwin T. Edwards and Martha Susan Cox. Their son - Fleming Fletcher Edwards was born 29 Sept. 1874 in Llano, Tex. according to U.S. Social Security application. E.T. was a Llano County Court Clerk in the 1870's but he died in 1882 as did Martha Ellen Edwards (my husband's great great grandmother). Probate records I found in the Llano County Court House indicate that Martha Susan was not living at the time of E.T.'s death as the children ( Mary Jane and Fleming Fletcher ) were made legal guardians of J.C. Edwards. We are hoping to find living relatives of Martha Susan (Cox) Edwards that might help us to locate Martha Ellen's parents and/or Luke Allen Moore's parents. Luke was Martha Ellen's husband. I have a feeling that the Cox family came with Luke and Martha Ellen from Missouri to Texas in the 1850's. If you have "any" information, that might help I would greatly appreciate you help. Sincerely, Dorothy Duncan

He was from Alabama, probably Dale County. He had three known children: Clara Adella Glenn b. 1871 Texas, Lizzie Glenn and John Glenn, likely all born in Texas. Any help with this family, if connection is correct, would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Posted on: Llano County Queries Reply Here: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/Tx/Llano/10411 Surname: GOBLE, MAXWELL ------------------------- I have some information on this family. Most of my information comes from the William GOBLE m. Dora MAXWELL family. However, I have interviewed an elderly descendant in this family within the past year, and he has provided additional information. The man is O.B. GOBLE, now living in Brady, TX. Will share as soon as I can gather the information. The most unusual thing, off hand, is that the surname of the original mother of the Gobles in the Llano/Burnet Co. area was also GOBLE. She and her husband were cousins. Karylon A. Russell, Box 823, Llano, TX 78643 krussell@moment.net
Posted on: Llano County Queries Reply Here: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/Tx/Llano/10410 Surname: Cowan, Risinger, Barnett, Samford ------------------------- Mr. McCoy, William Risinger was my great grandfather. He was born 2 February 1844 in Vermillion County, Illinois to Michael Risinger and Cynthia E. (Smalley) Risinger. When he was still a boy, the family moved to Round Top, Texas in Fayette, County. He continued to live in Fayette County into adulthood. When the Civil War broke out, he served with a Confederate unit under General Ledbetter and was taken prisoner during the battle of Vicksburg. When the war ended, he walked 600 miles back to Round Top. Soon after he returned home, he married Emily Barnett (m. 28 Nov. 1867) and they had 7 children (Robert E. Risinger b.1868, Elizabeth Risinger b.1870, William Risinger b.1871, Mary Ella Risinger b. 1873, Edward M. Risinger b.1875, James Monroe Risinger b.1877 & Mattie Emily Risinger b.1879). Emily Barnett died sometime after 1879, William and the children moved to Burnet County in 1881, and in 1882 William married Sarah Josephine Barnett (I do not know how Sarah is related to Emily Barnett, if at all). They had another 11 children, including my grandfather George Risinger (Anna Lee Risinger b.1883, Emma May Risinger b.1884, Addie Laura Risinger b.1886, Tennie Risinger b.1888, Horace Greely Risinger b.1890, Eva Risinger b.1892, John Hamilton Risinger b.1894, Alice Risinger b.1897, Helen Risinger b.1900, Joseph Edison Risinger b.1903, George Hay Risinger b.1905). I have several photographs of Sarah Josephine Barnett Risinger. I also have a group photo taken at the Risinger homestead near Lake Victor, Texas. It includes a woman holding a baby -- I presume she is Sarah Risinger, and the adult male to be William. There is also an older woman next to several children who might possibly be Cynthia Risinger. I am looking for other copies of the photograph that might have the names of the people scrawled on back. Unfortunately, George Risinger is recently deceased and I'm not sure who else might be able to identify them. Michael Risinger died in 1867 in Fayette County, and I am not aware of any photographs of him. Cynthia died in Lampasas, Texas in 1905. The photograph appears to be older than that (it is hand tinted and the people all have the frozen slightly artificial look typical of the old slow speed glass film plates.) I am visiting relatives in Burnet next week and may have some better information after I return. I saw your postings on both the Burnet and Llano rootsweb lists. I would love a copy of the photograph of James & Adelia Risinger (I have her listed in my family tree records as Delia Barnett. I am happy to share my photos as soon as I can get them scanned.
