Anyone working on the Eaton families? Did the dau of Silas Eaton : Malinda b: 1859 married R C Randall? Malinda Eaton did marry R C Randall 1876 LCT. What does R C stand for? Is this the same family in the 1900 census PCT 8 listed as Lum Randall with wife Minnie b: Mar 1859? I think she is Malinda dau of Silas but do not know for sure. Pat Oates in TX
To: Patricia Oats: This is not my family, but I looked in the book "A Family History of Limestone County", p. 93: "Richard Columbus "Lum" Randall was born in Hazlehurst, Mississippi, son of W. P. and ? Randall who migrated to Texas. He married Malinda Silas "Millie" Eaton on September 3, 1876. They moved to Thornton by 1880 where they built their home, which is still standing. The street was called Randall on the original layout of the city. Lum was a druggist. Because doctors were scarce, Lum served as the local doctor as well. He was a real humanitarian and most times took his pay in chickens and vegetables. During the big depression of the late 1800's, Malinda sold the land she owned around Kilgore to pay debts and keep the drugstore going.
