    1. [TXLIMEST] death certificates
    2. How does one get a death certificate in Texas? Edgar Edward Shrimpton died in 1917. He's supposed to be buried in the Lost Prairie Cemetery. Can I get a death certificate if I don't know the month and day of his death? Kay Davis

    3. Kay.... First I would contact the courthouse in Limestone Co., TX (County Clerk) to see if they have a listing.... if you have not done that, here is the address: County Courthouse 200 West State Street Groesbeck, Texas 76642 (254) 729-3810 Next, I would send a request to the TX Death Index and see if by chance they had a listing... here is the e-mail address: [email protected] They ask that you give the following info: When requesting information from the indexes, include the following information: full name of the individual concerned specific record requested (birth, death, etc.) approximate date of the record (you may specify up to 5 years to be search) city or county where the record was created or the person resided, if known for birth records, names of mother and father for death records, name of husband Be sure and specify a period of time you want looked at... The collection includes indexes from 1903 through the most recent year available. There is one alphabetical index for the years 1903 through 1940, one index for 1941 through 1945, and one index for 1946 through 1955. Beginning with 1956 each year is indexed separately. If you do not specify a range of time... they will e-mail you back for that.... so to save time, give it with the request. Or you can make a request to the State by mail: Mail to: Bureau of Vital Statistics Texas Department of Health P.O. Box 12040 AUSTIN, TX 78711-2040 All of this info and more is at this website and it will give you amounts charged for the different type of info: http://www.tsl.state.tx.us/arc/vitalfaq.html Good Luck to you.
