    3. To any list member who resides in Limestone Co.: I am searching for any information on Edward McCAIG. He was born 1866 in KS and died before 1900 in Limestone Co. The 1900 Census shows his widow, Sarah M., in Precinct 8, East of the railroad. Sarah had 12 children, six living. The oldest living child was born in 1887 and the youngest child (my grandfather) was born in 1894. I am estimating that Edward and Sarah were married circa 1880 and Edward died between 1894 and June 1900. I have found that there was a marriage record of a J.D. McCaig and S.M. Rose 17 Oct 1880 in Limestone. Since the 1900 Census index has Sarah listed as Saura, it is possible that J.D. should have been transcribed E.D. My questions are: What cemeteries would have been located in and around Precinct 8? Does anyone have cemetery records with any McCaigs listed? Does anyone have access to the 1880 Census for Limestone? Does anyone go to the county courthouse who would be willing to copy the McCaig-Rose marriage record? I would be delighted to reimburse for costs of copying, etc. Would appreciate any help with locating great grandfather. His father was John S. McCaig. Barb McCaig Nannery in MS

    3. Barb Call the courthouse 254-729-5504 tell Sue Lown that I told you to call & get her to make you a copy & mail it. She is the county clerk. I don't remember what they charge for marriage but birth & death are around 10.00 for cert. copy. What do you want out of the 1880 census? I will go back into it soon & will pull it for you if I know what you want. If the marriage info is correct those Rose families were in the Prairie Grove area north of the Navasota River & north of Lost Prairie. I have only put one Rose family in the computer & it is a Henry with no birthdate but he married a lady born 1896 so that gives you some idea. Pat Oates in TX.
