Well thanks Pat Oates, no - this doesn't help. My Hardy Jones and his wife Martha Blackburn were in Mount Calm, Limestone County back in the 1850-1880s. As I mentioned, hardy was the first postmaster back before the War between the States and his son, William Lewis Jones, was the fourth postmaster. I believe he used to run the post between Mount Calm and Shreveport. The father of Martha Caroline Blackburn was William Blackburn, mother was Sarah Fly. Sarah is buried in Mount Calm cemetery but I don't know about William, who I think may have been a preacher. John D. Sparks probably is not related to Polly Ann Levina Sparks or to any of her siblings. Many of Polly Ann's siblings died around 1882-3. Was there an epidemic of something in Limestone Co. at that time? Maybe cholera or yellow fever? Thanks again - - Ron Jones in southern California
