Susan Predonia Champion b 1858 in Falls Co., TX married Calvin Jones b 1833 Kershaw Co., SC in Limestone Co. on October 23, 1882. She died Feb. 26, 1938 in Thornton Limestone, County. Calvin Jones was the son of Samuel Jones II and Sarah N. Truesdale. This Jones family moved to Russell County AL about 1835- this was later Lee County. My ancestor Louisa Jones Barnett (1841) was a sister of Calvins. Louisa was born in Russell Co., AL married Richard Henry Barnett about 1855. Richard H.'s first wife, Rebecca Jones had died in 1854. Rebecca was a sister of Louisa and Calvins. Louisa, Richard H. Barnett and family moved to Limestone County after the Civil War. Both are buried at Tidwell Cemetery near Thornton in Limestone County. There was another sister, Vandonsan Jones b. 1844 Russell Co., AL married William T. Bassett in 1866 in Lee Co. I believe she and her family moved to Limestone County also. Any Barnett or Bassett researchers? The Samuel Jones family was a very large family - 14 or 15 children by 1st wife Sarah Truesdale. He married again and that wife had 6 or so children. I don't know about all of this group. There have been several books written about the Jones family from Kershaw SC but it does not follow everyone. Jonelle

    3. Jonelle Some of the Limestone Co. Barnett family was my GGrandparents neighbors in Oletha Limestone Co. TX. Also the Bassett family is some how kin to my Aunts Husband from the Thornton area. I have not done anything with the Bassetts yet but do have a little on the Barnett family but they are not as old as the ones you sent in. I am working the 1900 & 1850 Limestone Co. census now but will keep & eye open for any of these names as I work. Some of that Calvin Jones family is still around. I spent the day today in Ft Parker Cem & had so much fun. Pat Oates in TX.
