Looking for parents of H.O. Whitehurst who was superintendant of Groesbeck School. There is a school named after him now. Had a dau. Frances who died recently in Groesbeck. He is thought to have come from Bell Co., TX and his family from AL. Any help greatly appreciated. Thank you. Hey Jane, I noticed something interesting about your first query on H.O. Whitehurst. You said something about him being form Bell co. My Gggrandfather William Rufus michum (He was the one who married my Mary Ann Whitehurst) was born in a town called Old Howard Community in Bell County Tx I know this because thats is where I was raised in was Killeen which is only 20 miles from Temple. Old Howard used to be a community in what is now Temple Tx. Mary Ann and Williams son Henry Ollie Michum was born in Watt so that means that William Rufus father William Daniel moved from Old Howard to Watt after 7/1883 but before 10/1890. Some of the cemetary records for Bell Conuty are on line and I ma going to see if there is any Whitehurst buried in Temple or Killeen. Hello Debra. I'm not certain that H.O. was born in Bell Co., I just THINK that is what I heard Frances tell me. I really appreciate the b.&d. dates from the Headstones of H.O. and wife.
