I do not have a McCaig in the data base but do have a Meigs this is a reach but could the name have been changed some way? There was a pretty good number of the Meigs family in Robertson Co. TX at one time connected to a Whitman family. This Whitman family did come into Limestone Co. in the late 1800s. Pat Oates in TX. Pat, Do you have information concerning the Whitman family. That is my Whitman family you spoke of in your previous message. I visited there 3 weeks ago trying to find more information. Joseph and Margaret/Mary Whitman are my gggparents. I drove through Mexia, Kosse, Groesbeck, and went on to Bremond in Robertson Co. I found their tombstones, but still lack a lot of information. Trena I have a little but not a lot because they drifted in & out of Limestone Co. I do know that one of the girls married a Rainer that was from Limestone Co. TX. I have a friend here in McLennan Co. that works a Whitman line & there are 2 George Whitmans that keep getting mixed up. My friend has found a lady here in McLennan Co. that is from this George Whitman line in Robertson Co & Limestone Co. I do know that in Robertson Co. there was a Josiah Meigs that was mixed up in all of this because of research my friend & I did in Robertson Co. together. If you would be interested in contacting this lady it will have to be by snail mail or phone she is not on line.
