Gina & David, Thought I'd let you know I'm half way through photographing Coolidge City Cemetery. I am creating the index at home from the digital photos. This is the first time I have surveyed a cemetery with a camera. It is definitely easier. Rondina

Just wanted yall to know that I was finally able to look at the cemeteries in pdf this morning with Adobe 5.0 and they look fantastic. Some of them cannot be converted as they are handwritten, (Vinson) but they can still be seen! THe cemeteries will be here, in both pdf and plain txt. http://www.rootsweb.com/~txlimest/cemetery/ Thanks, everybody! David David W. I would hate to have to tell someone that their hard work was all for nothing - it makes me very uncomfortable. Gina, I have sent several messages to the list stating that I am resurveying all five Coolidge cemeteries. It is all right if someone retypes the lists, however the previous surveys for the cemeteries currently in use are extremely outdated. I am not retyping lists, I am walking the cemeteries. I would like to submit this information to the list itself, so that it can be updated as needed by anyone. I am not interested in copyright protection. Rondina
I believe David has Harvey's permission to copy the files to the Limestone County TXGenWeb site. >I believe Harvey is going to send the cemeteries to me, in >pdf format. Wanda, You can copy the file but it is a "picture" - not text. It will have to be retyped or scanned as text in a scanner. If you scan as text, you will need to go back and check your copy against the original. OCR is great when you scan a clean page but if there are any marks on the page - or even shadows - the scanner will read them as keyboard characters. Most of these files have a font with fuzzy edges and they are not scanning well. I still think the best bet is to print out the file if you have a printer and then re-type. Gina "Wanda K. Limestone Listers, There is a way to convert PDF files to Word documents by choosing SELECT ALL under EDIT on the tool bar and doing a copy and paste. Harvey turned this option off on his PDF software, most likely for copyright purposes. Is anyone aware that retyping Harvey's lists and publishing them on the Limestone site is a copyright violation?
