    3. Al This Isaac Wright b:1817 TN went to Hempstead ARK by 1850 in 1860 he was in Sabine Parish La living beside Jesse b: 1811 TN & Milberry Wright who I think is his bro. Isaac named a dau. Milberry which I feel is not a really common name. By 1870 he is in LCT. Think he had 2 wives named Nancy. In 1850 he is living beside a Crabb family which could be related to 1st wife Nancy. I have married or located most of his kids but Jesse :1848 TN William R b: 1844 TN have a William Riley Wright that would fit him but not sure Marinda A b: 1849 ARK Isaac L b:1856 ARK Sidney L b: 1864 TX The name Sidney turns up in the James Arthur "Big Boy" Wright family that lived in Groesbeck. I know James Arthur Wright belongs to one of the Wright families I have just have not figured out which one yet. The reason I think Isaac Wright had 2 wives named Nancy is in the 1870 census a Jackson L Roberts child shows up that could be son of the Nancy in the 1870 census & this Nancy states she was born ALA not TN like the other Nancy. 1. Re: COTTEN, SMITH, THOMAS, HERRING
    2. Barbara, My James Smith on the 1850 Shelby Co. TX census is 59 years old (the numbers are written over, but think this is correct). He was born in North Carolina. Permelia, his wife was born 1811 in South Carolina. Family records say her maiden name was Thomas. Because of the age of some of the children, I think she might be a second wife. The older children were born in Tennessee. Then they came to Texas in the early 1830's where the younger children were born. Both Permelia Thomas Smith and Abigale Herring Cotten lived in Personville on the 1860 census near each other. Both did not list a husband's name. Both were born in South Carolina. Your Stacy Cotten married to Henry Magee is the daughter of a different John Cotten/on than mine. I looked her up in my Daughters of the Republic of Texas books to identify her. Wish my line was as well documented! Thanks for taking the time to reply. Betty Owens
