    3. Hi Pat, I had a similar problem when I bought a new computer. My techie told me to check my firewall configuration (sorry, can't remember exactly what he said)---I did, followed his directions and the problem was fixed. You might contact a techie at your computer's service and see if he can help you solve the problem rather than trying to go through Rootsweb or your provider. 3. At one time there was a problem with ISP's that allowed mail to be passed on with no protocol and they were identified and mail from them was not accepted. Spammers used them to pass the junk mail anonymously. MSN was one of them and it caused me a lot of problems then but I haven't had any lately. Thanks, John C. 3. Edward married Mary Reasor, daughter of Peter Reasor, about 1791. (1) Property - [date: 1800] [place: Wythe Co, VA] 90 acres on headwater of S. Fork of Holston River Page 536 --(1800) Edward Catchem to Peter Tarter. 90 acres on headwaters of S. Fk. of Holston adjacent to Wisman, Catchem, & Dougherty. Wit: John Griffits, Christian Reoser (Razor), Nathional Morgan, 200pounds. (2) Early Setlers of Lee co., VA., Vol. 2 p. 593. Mary Reasor married Edward Ketchum. -------------- Peter Razor (Reasor?) Ketchum, son of Edward, is mentioned in the Blount County Alabama Court - Final Record - Feb. 18, 1825, Page 54 - Peter Ketchum vs. Vestal Beeson (no further information). Later that year Peter Razor Ketchum married Ann Burrell in Blount Co. on Oct. 12, 1825. No other information available about this union has been found. Peter R. lived in Caldwell County, TX died there Apr 6, 1868. ------------ Green Berry Ketchum, son of Peter, came to Texas about 1848 from Christian Co., IL with father & two brothers (Peter Jr. and Chester VanBuren) and their families. Brother James had arrived in Texas in 1846 and uncle Jacob arrived earlier, later living in Fannin County after receiving a land grand for fighting for Tx Independence from Mexico. Green Berry Ketchum was the County Coroner in Christian County, Illinois before he came to Texas. He married Temperance Katherine Wydick in Macon County, Illinois (which later became a part of Christian County). Eventually settled 5 miles west of San Saba, TX where Richland Creek meets the San Saba River and "a few miles above the mouth of the creek". Both brothers James and Peter, Jr. were killed by indians, at different times, after arriving in Texas - James near San Angelo and Peter Jr. in Medina Co. --------- Two sons of Green Berry Ketchum were Thomas Edward (Tom) and Samuel Wesley (Sam) Ketchum. They were the principals in the Black Jack Ketchum gang in the late 1800s in TX, AZ and NM. Sam was my great grandfather. He was shot (along with another of the gang) by a posse after a train holdup near Folsom, NM and died 2 weeks later in Santa Fe Territorial Prision. The sheriff and two other deputies were also shot. Brother Tom was shot 5 weeks later trying to rob the same train, at the same locaton, alone, for some reason? He was hung in Clayton, NM after having his arm amputated from the gunshot wound and being tried for "felonious assault on a train" which law was later repealed, but too late for Tom. 2. Thought I'd tell everybody that Pat (trish@texasinternet.com) still can't post directly to the list, all her emails are being treated as spam by Rootsweb software and are being placed in the blocked mail list that I have access to. I am able to "post" the message from the blocked mail list directly to the list which I have been, and will continue to do. Hopefully either her isp or Rootsweb staff will figure out what in her email headers (all the junk at the bottom of an email) is causing it to be considered spam. Bob Sanders list administrator

    3. Pat, I was told that after Lilly and Jess Stevens divorced that she married a Moody for a short time before her marriage to George R. Sanders and that Jess Stevens married Kate (unknown)Moody who is believed to be the ex-wife of the man Lilly married. Neither marriage lasted very long. They were all from the same area. I believe you also had found something about the marriages,as I remember you commenting that it sounded like a bit of wife swapping going on. Jess may not of been married to Kate long enough to have children but I don't know. He may have had at least three more children with her or his third wife (that is what his brother Jeff Stevens had said.) He didn't remember the third wifes name. He only returned once to visit his brother then left town without saying goodbye. My grandmother died in 1975 without ever finding out what happened to her father. She had been trying to find where Jess died for a long time. She believed he may have moved to Oklahoma but never knew for sure. Edd Stevens Jess father is buried in the Lost Prairie Cemetery. 3. Yes Patti, I am the one who researchs Owen's in Limestone. I have been meaning to write a message regarding SMART & MOODY but I had eye surgery the first and cannot see well to look up my data. My Moody connection is thru the OWEN's that still live in Limestone Co. I believe she was called "Big Mama" and was married to George Barney Owen , son of John Franklin Owen & Isabelle ( Belle) Little daughter of J.W. Little of Limestone Co John Frankllin was my grandfather's older brother .I hace a cousin in the Dallas area who is of that line and researches Moody & Owen. Yes, it has been a long time since we have been in touch, but I am still on the Limestone Co List.. Wanda in California now.. . > Wanda > Are you the one who researched Owens in LCT sometime back? If so it has > been a long time. We have just lost contact. > I do not think any of this James family ever was in the MO area at all. > Pat Oates in TX . >

    2. Mary, There was a Methodist church in Armour. I have copied any Laird information from the records that still remain in the Methodist church in Coolidge. I'll take a look and see if this Laird marriage was recorded. Rondina
